On The Move

BlackMeninArchitecture is a community influenced by the untapped and undiscovered voices of the Black Architects. With a powerful community, we hope to showcase the value and creativity of the Black thinkers which have been ignored for so long  via our publications and Interviews with Black Architects, we hope to inform the world that Black professionals have the talent and capabilities to perform in design and construction with any other group.

Our goals are to increase the level of participation in the social, cultural and economic benefits afforded the citizens of this nation and reachout to students, visit schools and conduct community development sessions, design competitions and so much more.

Mission

Black Men in Architecture mission is to create an outreach to promote black architecture students and design professions by fostering value, community building development of Black thinkers in the industry.

Aims and Objectives

Black Men in Architecture has been created to:

• Improve communication amongst Black architects

• Highlight Projects done by Black Professional Architects and Architecture students 

• Bridge the relationship between Black Architecture students and Black professional Architects

• Foster support to increase more licensed Black Architects in the profession

• Be a powerful source of motivation and inspiration for Black kids and youth

• Create Incentives for Black Architecture students

• Fight Discrimination  and increase diversity in the design industry

• Speak out for underrepresentation

• Promote a clear platform for information

• Increase Socio-cultural relationships with Black communities
